Born out of the OG media fire scene in the dying twenty-tweens, Wieuca is known (to relatively few) for their heady mix of indie, post-hardcore and Southern Gothic influences.
Based in Atlanta and Athens, GA, Wieuca has modeled themselves after prolific 90’s lofi acts like Guided By Voices, with over 40 releases to date. With blistering guitars and glitchy electronics, Wieuca’s sprawling catalog provides a futuristic and aggressive take on 90’s oddball favorites. Pitchfork’s late Ray Suzuki summed it up nicely; “Wieuca doesn’t have any love songs. This is music for fighting in a Home Depot parking lot.”
